The female offspring decided to treat her old momma to a momma/daughter meal. We debated between several downtown options.....#9 Bangkok, Beaks merge into Butler's BBQ, Urban Brew and BBQ (I admit I want to see the copper penny floor in the facilities), The Avenue Eats, Lemongrass, The Burg, Engine#9, so many options and so many diverse menu and dining experiences.
We happily settled on the Tap Room at the Hollander. I love their ambiance, dog friendly confines. superb signature cocktails, diverse brews on tap and simply delicious food. Yes, it is bar food and sandwich fare, but it excels for what it is.
The Cuban quesadilla continues to capture the essence of a Cuban in a wafer thin quesadilla tortilla. The Jalapeno wontons are exceptional. My Buffalo chicken fried sandwich on kaiser bun with blue cheese crumbles was wonderful. Female offspring was very happy with her chicken Caesar salad.
We saw some yummy looking glazed pork chops from the kitchen at an adjoining table. Our server, Jen, was spot on with her timing and she was a delight as a conversational friendly competent staff member. My daughter was enamoured with her dirty Stoli martini and I was equally in love with my handcrafted cocktail, "Fire in the Hole" premium bourbon, muddled ginger/strawberries and gingerale. It went down smooooooth. Our dinner entrees were hugely successful. We had after dinner drinks that hit the spot beautifully. There was a lovely array of sweet treats at the adjoining coffee and bakery. We were too full to be swayed, but the temptation was monumental.
All in all, once again the Tap Room delivers a fine meal. There were a number of guests lounging the lobby in this lovingly restored "Boutique hotel and Tap Room" Bravo! An individual "hot" spot that oozes charm and delight.
I've added a new feature so you can publish your blog posts on Urbanspoon yourself without having to wait for us to do it! Here's how it works:
ReplyDelete- Make sure you're signed into Urbanspoon.
- Go to your Urbanspoon blog page (not your user profile): https://www.urbanspoon.com/br/30/6632/Tampa-Bay/Notyourmommas-Kitchen.html
- Click "Edit blog settings".
- In the Pending Posts section, click "Edit and publish my pending posts".
- Then, enter the "snippet" text, verify the date and URL, and press Publish.
Please make sure that:
- The URL should be the permalink to the blog post (not the blog home page, a category page, a post preview, or a service like feedproxy).
- The snippet should be 2-3 sentences (quoted from your blog post) that gives an idea of what's in the post.
- The snippet should NOT include bylines, dates, address info, captions, tags, HTML code, etc.
Note: there may be a delay of 1-2 hours after you post on your blog until our system detects the post.
We'll give you one week to do it yourself, then it'll go into our queue to publish.
Thank you for all of your contributions, and let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Greg
